Neutrino physics and discrete symmetries

Abstract
A successful phenomenological ansatz for lepton mixing has been proposed by Harrison, Perkins and Scott where the third neutrino massive eigenstate is maximally mixed between mu and tau flavor eigenstates, and the second massive eigenstates is trimaximally mixed with e, mu, tau flavor eigenstates. This peculiar mixing can be reproduced assuming non-abelian discrete flavor symmetries. I Discuss recently works based on A4, S4 and Delata(27).
