My research activity is within the ALICE experiment.
It will study the physics of strongly interacting matter at extreme
energy densities, where the formation of a new phase of matter, the
quark-gluon plasma, is expected.
In particular:
- I am involved in the commissioning and calibration of the Zero Degree Calorimeters (ZDC). The ZDCs will provide the centrality trigger of the collision through the detection of the zero degree energy.
- I am studying the possibility of identify diffractive events in proton-proton collisions at LHC using ZDCs.
- I am implementing the Detector Control System (DCS) for the ZDCs.
