Welcome to the personal page of Alessandro Nagar. I am a theoretical physicist working on the theoretical modelization of astrophysical sources of gravitational waves. I was born in Torino, Italy. I graduated at Torino University in 1999 and then got my PhD at Parma University in 2004; from the fall of 2007 I am visiting researcher at IHES. Starting from 2006 my main research interests are at the interface between numerical and analytical modelizations of the dynamics and gravitational wave emission of inspiralling and coalescing relativistic binaries.
Research interests:
The Effective-One-Body approach to the general relativistic two body dynamics
Analytical modelizations of coalescing black-hole binaries
Tidal effects in inspiralling neutron star binaries
Relativistic theory of Love numbers
Binary black-hole colescence in the small-mass-rato limit
Nonradial oscillations of black holes and neutron stars
