A KICKOFF MEETING OF THE IGNITOR PROJECT WAS HELD AT THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY AND RESEARCH
in Rome on April 15th 2011.
Minutes of the meeting were written by Prof. Attilio Ferrari President of the CIFS (Inter University Centre for the Physics of Space)
During the Kickoff meeting six Italian scientific area panels were constituted corresponding to the six topics of the Moscow meeting:
1. High energy plasmas (Convenor: Marco Tavani INAF/IASF).
2. Nonlinear dynamics and turbulence in plasmas (Convenor: Pierluigi Veltri,
University of Clabria).
3. Magnetic reconnection and plasma instabilities (Convenor: Francesco Pegoraro,
University of Pisa).
4. Gravitational and non-neutral plasmas (Convenor Giuseppe Bertin, University
of Milano).
5. Numerical simulations (Convenor, Marco Velli, University of Firenze).
6. Technologies, diagnostics and development of detectors (Convenor Roberto
Battiston, University of Perugia).
On May 18th 2011 in Rome a new Meeting will take place denominated "Plasmi in Astrofisica e in Laboratorio" (PAL) organized within the framework of the Convention between CIFS and CNR that is specifically aimed at sustaining the scientific basis of the IGNITOR PROJECT, approved as Flag Project within the National Plan of Research 2011-2013.
